Over the last 10 years Web Essentials has developed digital products for diverse industries and clients worldwide, including event management, transport, education, development co-operation and banking.
In the last year, we have been increasingly delivering digital solutions that help drive social impact in Cambodia: including projects such the IDPoor nationwide beneficiary database, a nationwide school student tracking system, resource portals for various development or government-led programs, plus a beneficiary tracking system for another big Cambodian NGO to be announced soon. Web Essentials—founded as social business—has found a perfect match in the "ICT for Development" (ICT4D) space.
With this in mind, our board has made a strategic decision to move the CEO role from Switzerland to Cambodia, where our software delivery centre and our core operations are based. A Cambodian-based CEO and leader to build on the solid foundation, strong set of client partnerships and momentum achieved by the Web Essentials team under Dominik Stankowski, Web Essentials founder and CEO for the last 10 years and Mary Lüthy, former Managing Director in Cambodia.
Enter Grant Butler, a Leadership specialist with 37 years of experience in the IT and Automation industry. Grant has held senior leadership roles in Europe, Asia, Australia and New Zealand and is Lean and Six Sigma certified. This impressive track record of business transformation, leadership and partnership building means he is excellently placed to drive the Web Essentials strategy to continue to increase our customer base in Cambodia. He is a strong advocate of continuous improvement and learning, which fits right in with our Agile culture and teams.
We are very excited to welcome Grant to our Cambodian team, and have the whole team benefit from his years of experience and coaching skills.
What's changing?
The management of operations will be focused in Cambodia under the leadership of Grant. Dominik will be stepping down as CEO and focus on his role as Chairman of the Board.
What's staying the same?
Dominik will continue to manage accounts for our Swiss and European customers and our development teams will continue to write code for all our partners worldwide.
We are looking forward to this new chapter in the 10 year story of Web Essentials, and introducing Grant to all our partners old and new.
